London to Walsingham Camino - The Pilgrimage Guide
Before Henry VIII outlawed pilgrimage and the veneration of saints in 1538, the route from London to the shrine at Walsingham in Norfolk was the most popular pilgrimage in England.
This guide follows a newly-resurrected route between the capital and the ancient shrine in Norfolk. Divided into 13 easy to moderately-challenging stages, it's a truly uplifting walking experience, following footpaths and quiet lanes across the glorious east of England.
The route has now been given official recognition by the Confraternity of St James, better known for their organisation of the Camino de Santiago in Spain. That means any pilgrim who walks at least 25km of it will be able to use that 25km towards the total of 100km that must be walked in order to get the official credencial on reaching Santiago.
Route in 13 stages with downloadable walking instructions and gpx files
Only accessible to readers of this book, there are downloadable step-by-step walking instructions (for OS map users), and gpx files if you want to follow the route on your phone or gps unit.
